UI/UX Design is still a good career option, but the role is evolving with AI tools and new design trends. Beginners should focus on user research, design thinking, Figma, prototyping, and understanding user behavior. Learning how to use AI as a design assistant and building a strong portfolio can help you stand out in the current job market.
I don’t think AI is replacing UI/UX design—it’s changing how designers work. The repetitive parts of the process are becoming faster, which means designers can spend more time understanding users, solving problems, and creating better experiences. Those skills are still very much human.
If you’re thinking about learning UI/UX, I’d still say it’s worth it. The key is to go beyond learning Figma or design trends.
Focus on user research, accessibility, design systems, interaction design, and, most importantly, build a portfolio that clearly shows your thinking and problem-solving process. That’s what helps you stand out in today’s market.
