The salary of a Data Analyst vs. BPO professional in India can vary quite a lot depending on experience, location, company, and skills. Data Analyst roles can offer stronger salary growth as you gain experience with tools like SQL, Python, Power BI, and Excel.

That said, I wouldn’t choose Data Analytics based on salary alone. The role also offers opportunities to develop technical and analytical skills that can open up paths toward senior analytics, business intelligence, and Data Science roles.

If you’re considering a switch from BPO to Data Analytics, this guide is useful for understanding the current salary landscape and factors that influence pay: [Data Analyst Salary in India](https://www.guvi.in/blog/data-analyst-salary-in-india/?utm_source=Organic-Marketing&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=Blog&utm_content=what-is-the-salary-of-a-data-analyst-compared-to-a-bpo-job-in-india).

My suggestion would be to focus first on building the right skills and practical projects, then use your existing BPO experience as an advantage when applying for analytics roles.

It varies by experience and company, but generally **Data Analytics has better long-term earning potential than many BPO roles** in India.

For someone switching from BPO, the first analytics job may not bring a huge salary jump because you could be entering at a junior level. But as you build experience in **SQL, Python, Power BI, and data analysis** , the growth potential can be much better.

I’d look at the switch as a long-term career move rather than expecting an immediate salary increase.

It really depends on your experience, skills, and the company you work for. But Data Analytics can offer better long-term salary growth compared to many BPO roles. If you’re planning to switch, focus on learning Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Python. Your BPO experience can also help you understand business processes and work with real-world data. The growth may take time, but it’s a good career move to consider.
